I am having all kind of issues since I updated to the latest versino of the revo metro v5.8..5.90:
I used to run the projects directly from an external hard drive and now when I try it crases when I click complete after an scan.
The scnnaer suddenly stops scanning without finishing the complet revolution.
Every different take and position, the software struggles WAY WAY more to match the cloud point mesh.
it is slower in general.
Somebody with the same issures? I use this scanner every day for at least 4 hours in a rown. and after this lastes update it has been a nightmare to work with it.
Maybe because you use MetroX with it , there are some issues inside the system that create some bugs, and will be addressed and fixed in the mid of the March.
Uninstall the 5.8.5 including all folders before installing the older version.
install Revo Metro 5.8.4 to check if the problem disappears.
I don’t have info about the issue in MAC version but I will ask and let you know .
Next time please share your system info with your posts to avoid confusion .

BTW you should never process or run your projects from any external hard drivers , the speed will suffer in both scanning and processing , the project should be saved on the fastest system hard drive and run from there for processing .
Oh, it is a thunderbolt solid state hd. It is very very stable. And it used to do very fast. But after the latest update, every time that I click r”eady” when a take is done, the software closes put of nowhere and this did not happened before. I already deleted and reinstalled the software as you told me. And it keeps doing it… in general is slower, struggles more to put the shots together, easier to loose track. It take like 20ish seconds sometimes to process one shot and keep turning.
What used to take me 1-2 mins, now takes like 10 not even kidding. Its frustrating because it use to work perfectly fine.

Regarding the HD , no matter how fast it is , it will never works as fast specifically with the software.
I tried to use my thunderbolt 4 portable HD and it was much slower as well not only processing but scanning was too slow in laser mode. So usually not recommended.
Anyway the team is working on the updated so new versions will arrive mid March.
