Pop 4 or MetroX Pro

Anyone scanned black rubber hoses or nylon tubes with either the Pop 4 or MetroX Pro?

Hi @jcamper1981

That are actually the most difficult materials to scan

  1. The materials are highly absorbing no matter NIR or Laser , but Laser can handle it better
  2. If you use laser mode you need markers to be able to scan it .

3 the type of object is not really 3D scanning friendly due to lack of features , you will need to add some tracking stabilizers between like printed white cube objects or markers

I don’t know what dimension we talking here about or size , but no matter what scanner you choose, it is not an easy task .

I scanned some black rubber materials with both without major issue but you need markers or additional objects for tracking stabilization regardless.

If you are into Auto mobile scans etc you will maybe better off with MetroX Pro , if you plan to scan in bright lighting conditions POP 4 laser mode can handle it better .

It all depends on what else you will scan with
