I purchase the calibration boards for the range and am having issues getting the calibration to work.
The practice part works fine. It gives me the the green levels to match up.
Then it starts the calibration where the first test is to match up the green levels at0 degrees for pitch and roll at a height of 55cm. I do that but then it does not give me any more test at different pitch, rolls, or heights. All it does after the first test is it starts to speed through a series of test without the green levels asking you center up the crosshairs. It goes so fast through that to where you can hard read what it is saying. It sort of mentions moving in certain directions like left right but it goes so fast that I can’t really catch what it is asking. Also like I said it does not give any of the green levels to match up either. At the end of all that it then gives a sort of error message. It says “Abnormal Camera Parameters” & “You can calibrate the camera manually by obtaining its parameters.”. When you then select the option to Manually Obtain it just runs through the series of asking you to center it without the green levels and gives you that same “Abnormal Camera Parameters” you you just did. The only other option you hast is to Exit the calibration.
Anyways I am at a lose here. It does not work like it did for my Mini. It makes me wonder if the original Range scanner even works with the Calibration software for (RevoScan v 5.5.3).
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Abnormal Camera Parameters usually means the calibration is not stored and need to be manually loaded , it happens once to me using MIRACO when it was reset and need to calibrate the far mode.
The calibration in the last RS version is getting very fast for me also using other scanners.

For technical assistance , please if possible record the screen on your computer for reference and include with your email for faster support.
That’s all I can do here for you from the forum.
Thanks for the info. I will try to record the screen and send them a email about it.
BTW the collection of the parameters should happen only once, after it is collected you can process to the calibration.
It usually happens only once per system, the info get stored for future usage.
But if you did all of it already the technical support is just the only option here.
I hope your issue get resolved soon
Hi,
I purchased the calibration boards long ago for my Range 1, and at least I can tell you that they worked when I used them, so if there is any limitation/problem right now, it should be solely related to the Revoscan version, and thus solvable.
It is not just RevoScan if it asking for camera parameters to create profiles , it can’t calibrate anything without proper camera profile for the specific scanner.
Technical support will take care of this issue .
A little update on my issue.
I was in contact with the Revopoint Online Support and they determined that they sent me the wrong Calibration Boards. They sent me the newer boards for the Range2 and Miraco but when I ordered the boards fort the original Range which I have. So they sent me a replacement. Unfortunately I recieved that replacement today and they sent me the same exact boards. So I just replied back to them and now have to wait back to here what they say to do next.
I suggested in my reply to them that it would probably just be easier to update the calibration software so people could select with boards to use. The older version or the newer ones. At least for the Range 1 Scanner. After all the boards they sent me are for the Range 2 and Miraco so you would think it would be possible to update things so the Range 1 could use the new calibration boards since it is just an updated version. Honestly I think just updating it to have an option to use either would make more sense. Then just phase out the old boards since they stopped making the original Range 1 to begin with and just use the new boards for the Range Series and Miraco far Mode. Yet at the same time still give people the option for those that actually have the old boards a way to still use them so they do not have to by a new set. That honestly just makes more sense to me.
Anyways.. I am now just setting around waiting to see what to do next.
You need to change the firmware and software for that , since Range 1 is no more in production , I don’t know if they can do it or not , but anyway it is up to them.
Range 2 have a different optics than Range 1 so the distance is different on the boards. Range 2 scanning distance is much closer as well.
I assume you talking about the near mode calibration board and not the big one .
Anyway wait for the support reply , I will leave a note , so making sure they don’t send you again the same board , the team handling this is different from our social media team.
It is the big boards. The ones that you put all four together. I order the one for the Original Range. In the store it is listed as (Large Calibration-board Kit for RANGE 2 and RANGE). But the ones they sent me are listed in the store as (High-precision Large Calibration-board Kit for MIRACO, MIRACO Pro, and MIRACO Plus). So I now have two sets of them. On the back of the boards they sent me it says they support the Range 2 and Miraco. I am guessing with the Miraco it is for the far mode calibration.
Anyways…
What is strange is that on Twitter Revopoint3D replied to me not to long ago and said that the Range 2 and Miraco shared the same calibration board, which I am presuming is the ones I have. But they also said they just recently launched an exclusive vision calibration board for the Miraco series. Not sure what that version is as I do not see one listed like that in the store.
What ever they decide to do, I am sort of in a pickle with trying to calibrate my Scanner. I just have to wait and see what they say.
I am really confused by it already.
I have my original big Miraco cal. boards that also working with Range 1.
Then now there is a new glass board for near mode that works with Miraco series.
I never heard about new big calibration boards so I may missing something.
Do you have a link to the new big boards ?
I never calibrated my Range 1 or Range 2 in far mode and it works still great, only near modes.
Maybe I have it but ( ignored them thinking it was the same )
Thanks for the update and please continue to update as this gets figured out. I want to get the boards for my range1 also but will not order any until this is sorted.
These are the boards they sent me.
These are the boards I Ordered but have yet to receive. Also these are the boards shown in the Calibration when I run it.
Thanks @VectorRoll
Now it makes sense ..
And they are different indeed.
You are right , they should switch both Range 2 and Range to use the new Miraco cal. boards .. since Miraco used the old one before as well and they switched to the new one .
An update.
Today I received the correct Calibration Boards for the original first version of the Range
scanner. They worked this time and I was able to get through the whole calibration process. So the problem was indeed having the wrong calibration boards. I did notice a slight improvement in the quality of my scans as well. My scans are a little less grainy. I have had the scanner for a while and have knocked it over a few times. So it is good to know that the calibration process works and that I can now calibrate it if and when I need to. I am still a bit shaky when trying though.
Yeah not fan of calibrating with big boards , but luckily my Range 1 and Range 2 never need recalibration since the factory , always sharp.
I did calibrated MIRACO in the begining when it still used the first big boards ( now only Range 1 and 2 ) it was like doing a yoga
