I was looking through images of some old scans from the late 90s, when we used to travel around in a van with our “mobile” Cyberware head scanning solution.
Now obviously folk today do really high resolution head scans and textures with bigger and even less mobile photogrammetry rigs, but I thought it would be fun to compare the old with the new, in the shape of the INSPIRE.
The old dog still does better on scanning time and with that unreal file size where you could fit the geometry and texture on a floppy disk, but certainly gets owned in all other areas!
How the INSPIRE could have saved my back in those days…
