MetroX : what is the best way to scan PCB?

I want to scan PCB (small board) something like computer mainboard.

I have tried to scan a PCB as full field feature scan by putting a PCB on turn table with scanner on tripod but the result is really bad.

Can you guide the best way to scan PCB ?

i found laser mode is hard for pcb, i used fullfield to scan.

Did you do it with full field auto-turntable mode?

I used laser. The black and mirrored chips are annoying without spray. Pi Zero W v1.1. The mini HDMI connector was a bit tricky, One of my first tries with laser, so I’m sure there is room to improve it. The larger chip just below the center connector is the mirrored part.

Hi @ttabbal,

How about the accuracy level of your scan result ?
Could you share the obj or stl file ?

Thanks in advance

Let me know if it has issues downloading. I messed with it in GOM Inspect, compared to a caliper. It was off by under 0.1mm. I’d need to get out more accurate tools to measure it tighter than that.
