Merging issues pc vs. mesh

It is a great moment like that to learn about precision .

As that is the perfect example of it , precision is when 2 scans of the same object don’t match exactly the points in space and can’t be merged successfully.
Remember merge function only align 2 base scans , it do not move the individual points in the space .

If the precision fails while scanning you will get additional noises, seams and other artifacts after meshing .

The only chance here is to scan it again , however I am afraid it will not works , considering the history of Daniel’s posts, it never worked to begin with .

I would wait until the major bugs are fixed first , then after address the hardware if issues stil persist.

No i aligned and meshed the pcs in cloudcompare et voila, it looks better:


But the colours are gone.

Why you don’t exported the merged point cloud and meshed it in RS5 ?

Looks like you lost 90% of your scan after meshing, from 3 million polygons to 300K .
If you meshed it on that low level in RS5 you would have the same results

So why you say “NO” to ?
