Inspire 2 black screen when trying to scan in feature scan mode

just got the inspire 2 and idk why it does not work. Tested on these devices: iphone 15 pro, pixel 7 pro, pc with rtx 3080ti, laptop with only cpu. Marker scan works. it always says “not enough point clouds captured” and the distance indicator also doesn’t work.

already contacted support but no answer as of yet.

Hi @Eriksen

Wait for the response from Customer Support and technician , there is nothing I can help you out here with . They will evaluate the issue and probably arrange replacement in no time.

Im dealing with the exact same issue, scanner doesnt work, my guess isthe IR iluminators dont work making the markers not visible to the scanner, making it useless… waiting for the CS response… bought it last week, is it a bad batch of scanners??

try to record the front of the scanner with your phone in the dark to see if the iluminators turn on

they dont turn on.

Hi @Diegocesaretti

Send me your email via PM , I will check what it takes so long , the team is very busy with the Kickstarter but I will check tonight since we working tomorrow as well .

The infrared don’t see the markers the RGB camera do , the infrared projector project the infrared pattern on the surface that is captured by the depth sensors ( not the markers )

If your infrared projector don’t works , you will see nothing in the preview window at all and the Depth camera preview will be black out

There is no bad batch as only 2 people had recently issues with it like you and Erik , probably production fault or mishandled while shipping . Robots don’t make them, humans do.

i sincerelly dont know what is the issue thisis just me triyng to figure out whats going on… i really need this for work, is my first scanner and i went wiht this brand over competitor just because it seemed a better product, now im scared that if you replace it with another one like it it will eventually fail the same way, its a lot of money for me as i run a small bussiness, i hope this gets solved soon..

The technician will find out for you and make replacement if needed , nothing to worry about , that’s what 2 years warranty is for . I have all Revopoint scanners from the last 4 years and not one died on me , beside one that was mishandled in shipping.

Update for everyone having this issue: I messaged the revopoint support and they confirmed that the scanner was defective and arranged a replacement after the exchange of a few emails.

As expected ! Good to know your replacement is on the way !
