I am currently planning a project using the Miraco Plus 3D scanner that involves taking scans of human noses and measuring the length of different parts of it (some areas can be less than 5mm). I want to the measurements to be as accurate as possible. Are there any strategies/settings I can use to maximize the accuracy of my scans? So far, I am planning on using high accuracy mode, one shot, and 2x zoom. Any other tips would be appreciated
Remember human noses don’t have as much features so be careful to use too close scanning , it is better to capture nose / lips area using Near mode at 1x with Continuous mode .
Single shot mode requires more than 1 shot to capture a 3D object because one single shot is not a 3D , you need more than one single shot at different angles to capture 3D form .
I would recommend you use a tripod for stabilization , let the person rest their head on a chair or close to the wall for stability
For best quality import your project to Computer for processing at higher quality
I guess you will need a little practice to get best results .
Yes you can , use the smaller 3 mm markers and switch to marker mode , one thing , the person can’t do any expressions while scanning and breathe through the open mouth slowly
