Hey @happyendings59 and welcome to the forum .

What scanners are you using ?

hey!

a POP2, Range (both Pre USBC)… strange sitation here in chicago. i’ve had two of these stolen… a pop 2 and a mini… someone will connect them to the internet and realize they have seriall numbers though lol. like serously, who steals a 3d printer/scanner or one of these anymore. they have identifiers. oh well just buy another scanner from Revopoint and help them out. But the bozo that took those relic scanners needs to be marked.

Wow sorry about that … next time write down your serial numbers , just in case someone try to get support with it , they get surprise .

My sister living in Chicago, we know the drill :joy: don’t trust your own shadow . :joy:

i think my first POP2 Revpoint is a loss unless they know what serial went to me or somehow i connected and it was slurped up… I know who stole it but itd be fun to like catch them somehow.

same for tv’s. lol someone stole my smart TV and it’s been connected to my amazon account and shows the serial number blah blah blah.

i had a K1 Speedy competitor 3D printer stolen at the same time that i’m sure with competitor cloud can be identified. who would take someting like a smart tv, 3d scanner and the like to the pawn shop and claim they rightfully own it. this isn’t tube tv days anymore. everything has a unique identifier.

i bet some of my old files has some information on it that says what exact device made this Revopoint scan file that might include unique information on the exact device that took the scan. who knows… everyone has dirt.

Sad reality , some doing it just for the kick …
I had home invasion back in the days once while everyone slept, they took what they did and did not harm , things are just things .

We moved after couple of weeks and we’re robbed again while moving out … insane especially since it was a very nice area you would never expect. You need your eyes in the front and back those days .

Yeah, it’s been a crazy thing in Chicago. I’m trying to get to Arizona to a hot spring outside of Phoenix for a while but having so many problems with like, vehicles missing, police not taking reports, 911 hangups, FBI not responding, secret service asking questions while i’m in jail but not responding to obsurd identity theft issues, credit card companies saying i can’t check my balances because i’m represented by an attorney that i hired 3 years ago all of a sudden… it’s a mess up here and i just want to get this scanning stuff into a like… productive “company”… people like records of the things around them. Think family photography in 1980. You’d go to Kmart all together and get some photo done and you’d pay to have the print. Now think what products and services you can do with a 3D scanner right?

want a cup to put pencils in with your wifes head / boob? How much is that worth to someone? I dunno but it’s unique.

The serial number is stored in plain text with each scan. Just open the property.rvproj file for the scan with a text editor.

i think i have a scan file of a dumbass that ended up stealing the scanner… basically what you’re saying is if it’s ever used it can be traced back to me… and i paid for it, and they have it without my consent. any image that is produced from it… stolen property.

This dumbass even stole a few of my smart TV’s… then lived in my house trying to get me to give a cash for keys eviction style rent… that person is screwed.

There’s a lot going on in Chicago specifically today with like lawsuits arson… alll sorts of things that is going to make the media eventually.

i suggest everyone relocate here and we start a 3D scanning business while everyone walks around nude.
