I think a thread on the project would be a very good idea. That is my intention when I will be setting up my showcase: it will be the scan itself, the reverse engineering, FEM, CFD, the design loop, the newly manufactured parts, testing and performance. This will have to be for my own project, I can’t show what I am doing for clients, so I might throw in generative design of ducts and how I used that design to create manufacturable components and structures.
I want to do this as I see a lot of scans that are very cool in their own right, but I would like to show the power of this, the end product, what this data allows us to do, and hopefully imagine and make people think!

As for business expenses, you can buy it with any name(yours or your business name) and still claim it on your taxes, doesn’t matter what card or anything if it’s your personal business, that’s what I do because I have a business. Has nothing to do with how you declare it as a purchase, only how you declare it on your taxes at the end of the year. Buying this year and declaring it next year probably won’t work out anyways unless maybe your tax person is tricky with it or they go back and amend this years taxes which probably isn’t worth the squeeze because you have to pay for that I believe.
Yes the turntable mode give some issues in the currently version and I already reported it back to the dev team for fixation . There is some issue that may crash the turntable mode when scanning different angles in one project or use lots of single shot frames but it is already recognized and the dev.team is on this as we speak .
Anyone else getting strange shipping details? Last night UPS was telling me my scanner was in California, cleared customs, and would get to my house tomorrow. Now UPS details don’t even show California, and says it went from Malaysia to Hong Kong which makes zero sense. Cleared Malaysia customs only to the go to Hong Kong customs. Insane.
Customs are processed while the package is on the way and that is not weird at all, that’s how it works , receiving lots of packages from overseas so that is normal and it speed up the delivery.
It was never in California yet , just the paper work was processed by the customs.
