I have just got my new Metro Y Pro so decided to download the software before playing with the scanne. Once installed I run a performance check which came back as Poor, which was a supprise to me as I have also recently purchaced a HP Zbook Fury 16 G11 which has a I9, 96gb of ram and a GTX 4000 ADA 12gb graphics card which I thought was well spec`d as I use it for cad and had planned to get a scanner. After some googling it looks like my GPU is not ideal for the Metro Y Pro so is it even worth me un-boxing the scanner and giving it a go or is it going to be a waste of time?
Please connect the scanner to the software and then run the test .
It will tell you what option is better CPU or GPU
Quadro cards are not ideal to use for GPU acceleration, it require different drivers and card features in short a cheaper gaming card will perform better with this feature compared to quadro.
I Have just connected it up for a quick play. I`m seeing around 45fps on marker mode and 15fps on feature mode. I have no odea how usable that is but I will try again tomorrow after I have watched a few more guides on using it.
45 fps is ok and almost maximum for CPU , 15 fps is maximum for Full Field , and 2-3 fps for Auto mode .
So for the CPU test very good
.
In the top right corner you will have settings , where you can activate GPU acceleration, shut down GPU rendering acceleration, and keep only GPU scanning acceleration and test out with your card using only laser mode after the reboot.
GPU acceleration works only using laser mode . Cross line, Parallel line, Single line
You should have more than 45 fps using GPU acceleration.
