Yes, it is normal. We revised the design to avoid users’ wrong adjustments.

“users’ wrong adjustments”, huh? You don’t seem to have much trust in the users. Actually, I’m still waiting - and I know others do, too - for a statement about the crypted config-files and whether there are plans of opening them in an “advanced users” mode or something.

So am I correct in thinking that we can no longer adjust gain to help scan more reflective areas of parts like machined surfaces?

Since different users have different requirements and needs, we revise the setting to ensure that the common user can quickly get a better result.
If you think the gain is very important, I will discuss it with our developer team and see if there’s a better way.
