Some objects require scanning in two steps – first the top side, then the bottom. This generally works well with Trackit, and adding a texture to each individual scan is no problem.
Merging the two scans into a complete object also works without major issues. However, my question is: How can I combine not only the geometry but also the textures of both scans into a single model?
I would appreciate any guidance on the recommended workflow or supported export/import formats to successfully merge the textures from both scans.
Thank you in advance!
Hi @zoelchr
You cannot create textures for merged scans using Revo Track at this moment.
The only option at this moment is to create mesh from your merged scans and export it.
Open the merged mesh in a 3D modeling program like Blender, MeshMixer, or ZBrush. Use the program’s built-in texturing tools to map the RGB data from your original scans onto the new mesh .
Inside Revo Track this function is not yet available so you will need to use other software to finish that process .
You can definitely combine multiple scans with both geometry and textures. First, align the top and bottom scans accurately, then merge the meshes into a single model. For textures, you can either keep each scan’s texture separate and bake them onto a single UV map, or project the original textures onto the merged geometry and blend the seams.
Hi @sanjay210
You just typed exactly the same as I did , but texturing can’t be done at this moment after merging using Revo Track . You need different software to finish it.
