Andy's Revopoint 3D MetroX showcase of shiny and black objects

Lego motorcycle - Shiny plastic with black rubber and black plastic - 150mm
This would be impossible to scan without spray with any previous scanner I’ve used. MetroX handled it like a champ.
Crossed lines mode. Black object settings.

Here’s a tough one. A Logitech MX Master mouse. Shiny silver underneath with very shiny mouse pads. Dark grey on top with shiny accents. Black rubber on the wheels.
I would not normally scan this without spray due to the different contrasts and the shininess. MetroX managed. It’s a little noisy but is a good example of what can be achieved with zero prep.

Thanks a lot. I’ve got the Same Mouse, so I can Imagine. Not possible to scan unprepped with Miraco in that quality.
Awesome! Thanks

Beautiful results with that mouse Andy.
You are on the roll !

It does look great.

I’d love to see how you got shiny stuff to scan. I’m in cross line laser and even single line and I can’t get a shiny object to scan for diddly unless I spray it. Spray it and it comes out perfectly, but no spray and many gaps.

Just keep going over the areas where there are gaps. 10,000 frames or more. As I said, for most of the shiny / black scans I would normally use spray but I like to challenge the device so scanned without.
Making use of the shiny object mode helps.
