What causes the scan to double? I was getting what I thought was a good scan until this happened.
Firmware update has been done.
fusion didn’t fix it
Isolated and looking like it might have been the start of a good scan

Too many markers too close together
created a shift in software recognition .
The markets should create unique pattern representing a unique feature separated from each other at minimal 4 cm , if the pattern is repeat it can confuse the software and shift .
OK.
This is not a moneymaker, I’m just trying to learn how to get good scans from MetroX.
IRL, I’d probably never be doing a mixed media/color part…maybe, but mostly I’d use a single item and scan that.
Still, I’d like to be able to scan something like this with multiple colors/textures/etc and get good results. How would you approach something like this?
(Pardon my mess.)
Now when you got the base , put it upside down and use laser mode to scan the wheels capturing 20% of the top part by the sides, then you can merge it after together.
To select smaller isolation areas you need to set the isolation settings to smaller as possible and hopefully it will not affect the parts but better choice is to rescan the wheels and merge the bottom part .
I think it will be great practice for you
The rubber on the wheels may give you hard time because it absorbing the blue lighting so try to use Dark Mode in the settings and play with the exposure settings after until they appear in preview.
If not you will need to sparkle it slightly with some scanning spray
Regarding color currently only Auto mode support it and considering the multiple materials it can be not as easy .
When I am scanning this types I use transparent 3D spray to slightly dust the objects and still keep the colors .
