Does the amount of memory on the video card (8GB, 12GB, 16GB, …) help during scanning or processing ? Would there be any benefit spending €250 more for 5070ti instead of going for the regular 5070 (I’m not into games) ?
It can help. But 8gb of vram is just fine.
The cpu and system ram is whats mainly usrd for processing the data.
Gpu mainly for acquiring data
Thank you very much for your reply !
I use RTX 4060 on my laptop and it works optimal even with Trackit .. don’t waste your money .. spend it on the System RAM , that’s where the software needs mostly . Revo Scan is a CPU based software .. GPU is only used while collecting frames in laser mode only.
Thank you. I had come here to get this exact answer for the laptop I am considering.
My MetroX arrived this morning and I already had a little play time.
On my lowly RTX 2080 Super 4GB cross lines scanning surprisingly works at 59,8 fps.
Full auto mode however drops to a measly 3 fps.
Processing the small statue step by step took 2 min max per step (Ryzen 9 3950x, 64 GB RAM).
Definitely in need of a faster graphics card and more hands on practicing with the scanner.
Even on my Dell 7480 laptop (with a 2-core hyperthreaded CPU and an Intel eGPU), I got about 3 fps in Auto Turntable mode. That’s just the way it works.
Hi. You can’t get more fps than 2-3 on auto mode,no matter what cpu/gpu, if you think about how this mode works.
Wow ! Thanks for the info !
Full Field and Auto mode are 2 different modes capturing completely different way .
Auto mode is not the same as single shot mode under Full Field , neither it is continuous.
It captures 2-3 frames per shot with a different pattern . Where Full Field single shot uses only one pattern in single shot and continuous mode in general feature mode.
I can use Auto mode and Full Field mode with my tablet without issues .. as it requires low CPU power comparing to laser modes .
