Unconsistant results in points fusion between MICARO and RevoScan 5/6 on PC

Hello.

I accidentally found while fighting for the best quality of scan processing that internal processing tools on MIRACO Plus (which I have) do way better points fusion and meshes as result compare to RevoScan on PC.

With RevoScan v5 I lost like half of the model regardless the fusion settings, it just cut pieces of scan without a reason and fusion quality is terrible

I missed that there is newer RevoScan v6, so I tried it. It did not cut the pieces, but quality is much worse than on MIRACO itself again, regardles the parameters.

Here are the screenshots of fused points. In all the cases raw points cloud added from MIRACO, then Fusion 0.50mm with 6mm markers removal. On PC I used isolation and overlap to clean tiny pieces, but it did not change the picture much. Changing fusion distance into lower or higher values doesn’t change the results - regardless points amount te same pieces are missing and the same artifacts stay in place.

Can somebody explain what the heck is going on there? What information I need to provide to fix that? I am open to help as such behavior of software is not acceptable.

Thank you.

Hi @DanceM

Can you please forward this issue direct to customer@revopoint3d.com and leave your feedback , you can include the direct link to the thread as well .

It is related to the algorithms and they can’t be exact the same on computer and MIRACO Plus , but the Revo Scan 6 have already improved new algorithms handling the MIRACO projects better vs Revo Scan 5 that handled them not as good lately, still it needs more cleaning than on MIRACO Plus.

Revo Scan 6 will be now te way to go for MIRACO series users and will improve with the next update.

Please send you feedback in person , individual reports matters more than you may think helping improve the bugs faster.
