I’ve been trying out MetroX for a few days, and so far, the experience has been quite good!
Although it requires placing a lot of markers, the detail in the result is impressive.
It has been very helpful for my product design work.
However, I still need to spend some time figuring out how to scan my models more efficiently !
Hi @Zerx
Welcome to the forum … practice makes perfect ! You needs at least 200 hours of scanning to get everything out from what it offers.
Each object is unique and needs own specific approach. That’s why 3D scanning is the most expensive service, because it is not just a push of the button but Art in itself that needs little mastering.
Looking forward to see more of your scans in the future.
That’s a nice scan for someone just testing it out. Well done.
As PUTV says, practice is the name of the game. I dread to think how many thousands of hours of scanning time I’ve put in. PUTV has many more than me.
Looking at the size of that object (I’m guessing based on the size of the marker holes) you would be able to scan that without markers attached to it. Grab yourself some maker tokens to print off Printables or Makerworld and sticker them up with the markers the MetroX came with (if you have access to them). You can then place them around the object and use them to track.
Brilliantly spoken! Can you teach us what’s your approach to a new scanning object? - teach us the way how you let the scanner look at it and how you prepare the object of course.
Thankfully regards for your good lead
