The trackit can only scan and not capture textures if I am right. What would be an easy, reliable an fast workflow to do that?

EDIT: Yes, you are right, TrackIt can’t scan textures YET. But it will be with a futre update.
Meanwhile a possible way to apply textures using photogrammetry is described here. You decide how easy it is.

According to my information the future software for Trackit will be able to capture textures as well.
That’s all I know about .
Color scanning with Trackit was advertised as well as showing in the post above .

Any news on this, whether it’s available upon arrival or if we have to wait to post launch some time ?
I believe it will be available next week already on the Public Download page .
On Sunday I will be final testing the color capture as well so it may be up short after.

I’ve played around with this - TrackIt nails the geometry but leaves you with a plain mesh(
What works for me is tossing the scan into Artec Studio, adding a photo set, and letting it handle the photogrammetry. It maps the textures on pretty well
Not as convenient as having a scanner that captures color out of the box, but it gets the job done. And you don’t need an Artec scanner for this, just the software. Quite pricey, but worth it.
The latest firmware has textures, so no need for extra photos and 3rd party software.
Also it’s against forum rules to talk about other “competing” companies

supper quick test of textures with Trackit (very early prototype/beta unit)
probably couple of minutes to scan and probably not enough pictures taken in texture mode, but it looks promising
I’m sure someone can do better

Trackit has an color option and you can capture textures while scanning .
If you don’t see it , make sure your Trackit firmware is updated . Then fully calibrate your scanner and tracker after.
It is indeed against the forum TOS to post links to other 3D scanning competitors and their products or websites. Unless it is free and non commercial product , software or services.
