Trackit software stating incorrect computer specs

Hey all - having a strange issue after updating the software. Current machine has a 20 core processor, 64gb of ram, etc. The “weak” point is the GPU, its running an NVIDIA® RTX™ 2000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU 8GB GDDR6.

The issue is, the software keeps saying the computer does not have enough cores, nor enough ram. Is this just an issue of the software not recognizing the specific processor or ram?

Hi @raneff5

I don’t know why available physical memories are only 28 GB when you have installed 64 GB of RAM , you need minimal 32 GB of RAM to be available for the software.

Are the screenshot made while using the software or what eating up the RAM?

The CPU is on the minimal requirement side so not that fast either, but it should do, but you not get full performance on that CPU with Trackit.

Check the speed of the frames while scanning and check what editing the RAM , restart the laptop and make screenshot of the specifications actions again.

The Graphic card do lower the score here in this case but it should be no problem , try to use just CPU and check the frame rate while scanning , then with GPU acceleration for comparison and let me know.

If the update works less for you and the older version was ok, just reinstall the old version for now.

Hi there - yes the screenshot was while running the software in the middle of a scan. That is what you are seeing there.

I was getting about 25-30 FPS while scanning with crossed lines, single line was ~60 FPS. This is with CPU acceleration instead of GPU acceleration.

But, the main thing is - why is the software telling me I don’t have enough cores or ram?

The Frame rate is not bad for your CPU at all.

I will have to ask the Dev team about , I never had this issue before even on my older PC .

But I see lots of RAM is consumed and much too much unless you scanning big object and use very high fusing settings.

At this level of RAM usage you should produce a scan of more than 35 millions of polygons.

Maybe best idea would be to send the info direct to customer@revopoint3d.com and they may have solution after checking your logs.
You can include the link to this thread as reference in place of typing everything again .
Please do and I will ask on my side.

this is after restarting the computer, not running the software:

I did turn GPU acceleration on and the scanning was much faster, so that is good. Got ~50 FPS with GPU acceleration on crossed lines. But, its still warning me that I don’t have enough cores and ram… Every time I start a scan.

Ok the speed with the GPU is surprisingly good for that card considering it is not optimally supported by the software, 57 fps would be top with RTX 4060

That why it is quite a mystery why you get the warnings, you should not .

I already left a note by the Dev. Team
Will let you know once I get answer , but please don’t forget to send your email as well.
