Revopoint Scanner Not Connecting Over Wi-Fi – Solved with VPN Trick

Hey everyone,
I recently had trouble connecting my Revopoint 3D scanner to the mobile app over Wi-Fi. It kept timing out or saying “device not found,” especially when I was on public or university networks.

After some trial and error, I found that using a VPN app (I used Stag VPN, which is free and easy to set up) helped bypass the restrictions. Once connected through VPN, the scanner was instantly detected and everything worked smoothly.

Just wanted to share this in case anyone else is facing random connectivity issues.
Let me know if this helped or if you’ve found other workarounds!

Thanks!

Hi @auroralane7754

Revopoint scanners don’t use local or public Internet networks to connect to the scanner , the scanner itself has own local build WiFi network where your phone or computer connecting to to be able to scan using the software.

It is possible your phone settings has restriction that don’t allow for some reason to connect to the scanner network or block the app from connecting to it .

In my case with Android I had to change settings that allows to keep the WiFi connection ( without actual Internet ) some settings will disconnect the scanner WiFi when the Internet is not detected .

Anyway glad you found your way
Just wanted to let you know about the scanner network that don’t really use any Internet connection but its own local network.
