With the Revopoint Robotic arm unveiled, it got me thinking about what Revopoint could do in the future. Have you guys considered a Faro-type arm product that could be linked with a 3D scanner to allow for positive tracking along with CMM type inspection capabilities? Seems like not too far of a leap for the Revopoint brand!
Before Revopoint was creating consumer scanners their goal was in commercial productions just like that.
Structured light scanners are not good for this type of work, they relays heavy on features of the object so usage would be very limited for this kind of work and very slow.
For that kind of job you need completely different technology to be used.
