That is a clever solution. I don’t know how long it would have taken me to notice this path.
Well…CloudCompare is working now!!
I posted the issue on the CC forum and got a reply with 3 possible solutions. One of them was to disable the option “loading clouds on GPU for faster display”. This actually worked but then I also realized that I had not checked NVIDIA 3D-settings (for programs) in which you can set which graphics card CC will use when it is active. I added CC to that list manually and set it to use the RTX2060 (instead of the integrated GPU) and that also did the trick.
I was able to work in CC for about half an hour and made my first mesh out of 3 pointclouds, without crashing! I’m not 100% sure it will hold in longer sessions, but i think that this solved the issue.
Unfortunately this does not apply to Revo Studio… …allready tried…
Wow…it looks like this is working!!
RevoStudio opens fine and I’m inside the GUI. It’s getting late so I will be checking this out later.
Obviously not the most charming solution but if it works then it’s fine with me…
Thanks for the tip!
I forgot about that solution to check what graphic card the program uses , thanks for the reminder .
