I just opened an Original Revoprint Pop from the original campaign. (Yeah, been sitting on a shelf for years…)
I’m looking for a “How to use” and which software I need.
Hi
This is a quick tutorial on how to use the scanning software (there are MAAAANY more, just look for “Revo Scan tutorial” if needed)
You can download the the software “Revo Scan 5” here
https://download.revopoint3d.com/soft/RevoScan-5.5.4.1776-windows-x86_64.exe
Here is the repository , you’ll find manual to download if you scroll down
Just notice to use/read everything related to “Revo Scan 5”, because there is also a “Revo Scan 5 Metro X” version , which is only compatible with metro x -scanner.
cheers
I’m in the same situation, bought in Sep 2022 — now I need the scanner for teaching. I installed Revo Scan 5, and it seems to work on my Windows 11 laptop (the software recognises the scanner, and I can see the object on screen, but not continued yet).
However, I’m not sure whether it can work with an iPad (mine is an iPad 2025).
My iPad cannot find the scanner’s Wi‑Fi hotspot, and when I connect it via USB, the iPad doesn’t recognise the device either.
Have you managed to use the POP (Gen 1) with your devices?
I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.
Hi @yudhidayak
POP1 don’t use regular WiFi , you need to create a hotspot using your phone / tablet to be able to connect it wirelessly, the speed will be very slow btw as it uses 2G only and low frame rate.
Steps for Hotspot Connection (POP 1)
- Power the Scanner: Connect the POP scanner to a power bank because the phone cannot provide enough power.
- Set Up Phone Hotspot: Go to your phone’s Wi-Fi hotspot settings.
- Hotspot Name (SSID):
POP - Password:
12345678 - Band: Must be 2.4 GHz
- Connect: Turn on the hotspot. The scanner will connect automatically.
- Launch Application: Open the Revo Scan app on your phone.
