Hello All. I am reaching out for assistance as I am facing challenges with scanning models using MetroX . I have scanne almost 20-30 models, and unfortunately, I have not had any success so far.
I have sufficient markers, which I thought would resolve the issue, but it hasn’t made a difference. A few seconds into scanning each model, the orientation changes, causing the system to lose its location. As a result, it keeps scanning and overlapping the same part over and over. No to mention that this is my 1st time scanning and i am a newbie
Any advice or suggestions you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help!

Someone posted a similar issue. I think you just need to adjust your setup. Scanning is tricky sometimes. Show us what the setup looks like and scan settings. Your machine is fine.
Which mode are you scanning in? It sounds like feature tracking mode. For me the two laser modes are far better than either of the full field modes, but feature tracking mode often has problems for me like you describe. You can somewhat combat it by putting a lot more geometry around the object you are scanning. Things like crumpled pieces of paper work well.
As already mentioned , this is happening when using Feature or Auto mode without enough features on your object, add more elements to the scanning or use marker mode.
If you use marker mode or laser mode , it is impossible for object change position unless you put too many markers too close together in regular pattern, markers have to be placed in unique pattern. However since you also have markers on the turntable , you can add additional objects and put markers on them ( and not the object ) to easy scan an angle.
Now what mode you use and what are typical your objects ? , take a picture of your setup for reference.
Will you be able to point me as to what their issues were and the remedy they found if any? I tried all option of scanning and the results were the same . Full field scanning option was the worse in terms of my experience as it pertains to the issues encountered. I got better results with cross and parallel line makers tracking
You still have not given very much info. Please share a picture of your scanning setup. What your results are seeing in Revoscan. A picture is worth a thousand words and can help us to help you.
As said above, its possible to have TOO many markers and that confuses the scanner. Not enough features in feature mode will give you issues as well. Exposure and laser brightness settings matter as well depending on the object.
Scanning is a bit of an art form, its not just something you are instantly good at. We’ve all spent hours and hours scanning and getting over the learning curve. You can get there too with a bit of patience and sharing a little more about your issues.
I explained to you exactly what to do , if your laser mode worked for you then use the same scanning setup and change full Field to marker mode for your object .
You will not have a proper scanning experiences if you scan objects without features, optical scanners need features to be able to tracking so there is not way around as proper setup of your scanning area .
MetroX scans everything great in each mode , as long as you follow the simple rules .
If you are using markers, make sure they aren’t too close together or in a repeat pattern. That’ll blow the scan for sure. Lots of other good advise in this thread too.
