Hello, I’ve recently bought the MetroY Pro, and the main reason I bit the bullet and bought the thing is that in their offical page it promised that I can color map in all 5 scanning modes. All 5!
As of writing this, and using the latest software (5.8.3) my Metro Y Pro can only color paint in turntable, which is a direct contradiction from what was promised. I’m attaching an image, to showcase this promise.
When will this be avaliable, because if not, then this is false advertisement, as no news has been given to this, and if at all at this point will it be avaliable?
I think the community and myself needs answers, as I’m happy to return this if this is not solved.
I took delivery a couple of days ago, only took it out of the box this evening, the first thing I did was have a look to see how good the colour scanning was, only to find I could not activate the colour scanning in full field mode. I’ve sent them an email asking them how to colour, to purchase this primarily to capture high-quality colour 3-D scans. I will be gutted if this capability it is not possible, as with you it’s false advertising.
I had conversation the other day about this issue .
Right now the color scanning is only available using Auto mode , the other modes will be available in later stage of the software improvement so definitely it is coming but later. That’s all I have for you at this moment .
While I understand, at no point in either marketing or the official page does it says “available later or at a specific date” but it Claims that is is I fact avaliable right now, as a direct comparison why you should get it compared to the metro X.
This makes revopoint very easily open to pull from the market, by the EU, for false advertising, until this is sorted, and it is very likely reason people will refund the item, and this will be set as reason why.
EU truly rarely missed an opportunity where false advertising is allowed to this degree, especially if the turnover rate is high.
For full transparency I’ve fully document the current page saved it, and redorded a video so no further or possible tampering goes on with the page ie. That they suddenly delete this claim.
If no date is set or disclosed I’ll be the first. In line to return the item very soon.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not blaming you or anything I’m just baffled on how such a large claim can be made then not delivered. And Im apologising if it came out as if I blame you.
However, I’m sure no one would be even made if there’s was more transparency, or a specific time line or even hell a response from the team saying that they apologize, that it’s being worked on and then give us a proper time line.
Im as well not saying that the metro y is a bad product I think it’s quite good overall, but what was promised was not delivered.

Our forum community main focus is related mostly to scanning . So please don’t expect here public statement from CS , different team different area.
I do leave notes for important posts like yours for a specific attention if the matter is very important and urgent.
And please don’t apologize to me , it is all OK , I understand very well your concerns regarding this issue.
I will keep an eye on this and will post more once I get more info , but from what I deducted so far , it will not happen early than the end of December . The R&D is very busy right now finishing the Mac version of the software. I don’t think they will have the time for anything else until then. Just my personal guessing . I hope I am wrong.
