Metro X Blue Line Modes are not working?

AMD 5900x
RTX 2800 Super

In full field mode, the rending is perfect and will track in real time.

I was scanning in Blue Line mode with marker tracking. I have PLENTY of markers on the part and all the blocks around the part. The software will give me like, 1 frame every 10-30 seconds.

This wasn’t a problem with my first scan with the same part, i went to retry it, and now it’s really bad and won’t even attempt to start scanning the part or crash out of the program. In the right side it says “57.4 fps” and it tells me i need more markers

I have no idea what’s going on and it’s insanely frustrating when it was just working fine minutes before

in the lower left, the Depth camera view is working just fine. It just won’t begin scanning after i hit start

https://youtu.be/Q0_3WIzVL9Q Video for example

I’m so close to just returning this

First of all what are you scanning ? I see no object in the preview scanned so the points can’t be collected .

Please put something between the markers to be captured .

In the laser mode ( cross line ) you have no object and not enough markers

Sometimes it is good to reboot the scanner if you encounter any issue that was not there before .

On top your have a minimal system requirements to even scan anything so don’t expect full power house with that system using laser mode , for full Field your system is mode than enough so you should have no issue .

Try to disable GPU rendering mode when using Laser Mode ( Cross line ) and see if any improvements

I can’t see any markers or scanned parts in the video so not sure what it is

Try to use the turntable with the original markers and put in some easy object when you record the issue for more clearance .

I will forward your issue to the team in a moment.

Because it wasn’t working anymore with my car dash I was scanning, I brought the scanner to my desk with 4 marker blocks to try and diagnose the issue

Scanner has been rebooted many times, PC was restarted 3 times, reinstalled revo point metroX, checked for Windows update and installed the newest Nvidia driver.

I have, if not exceeded slightly, the recommended hardware required to run this software. I’ve watched people running this software with this scanner on blue line scanning with 12th gen think pads without any of the issues I’m running into.

I tried disabling GPU rendering when diagnosing and couldn’t get a different result

Keep in mind it was working fine for about 4 hours when suddenly I started running into this issue. You can’t see any markers because the scanning window is legitimately frozen. It’s actually devolved to crashing every time I hit the start scan button now, so it’s only gotten worse.

I can try using the turntable with the sample bust

I already forwarded your issue to the team , just give it a moment to evaluate

Yes the stopping and crashing is not an usual behavior .
I use it almost daily so really strange , but don’t worry the team will find out what is going on and help you out.

Hi @jkleashrd , sorry for causing any inconvenience, please provide the log of the software, you can follow the instruction: https://support.revopoint3d.com/hc/en-us/articles/24404212920987-How-do-I-find-the-software-log

I just recreated the same marker amount and everything works just fine , however it is not enough or proper amouth of markers to be used.
Software worked just fine

try the turntable plate and put some bust on it and try again , it should works just fine.

if not please follow @Revopoint3D-Gena for instructions

So plugging away, I fixed the crash by fully uninstalling revo scan 5 metroX and deleting all the app data associated with the software.

I was still having the issue of the marker not being picked up at all despite showing 60 fps and i was on more than enough markers. I recalibrated the unit as a last ditch effort before I packed it away despite the quantity of posts saying not to do it after receiving it, and low and behold, it’s picking up markers now. It’s actually picking up the markers SIGNIFICANTLY better than it was when it was running “good” i’m actually picking up the markers at the adertised 45 degrees instead of just straight on

Yes calibration is the first thing that is connected with picking markers .
However marker picking with laser mode is totally different than with full Field because full Field have 7 millions points in one frame and laser only 800K of points and it only fire the laser on if marker are present for safety reason , once there is not enough markers visible at once , it will stop the scanning process .

I tested again today the all angles and even with just the minimal amount of markers it picked up at any angle even at 20-30 degrees.

Make sure your markers are not too close when placing in flatter surfaces and at least 3 cm apart , if placed too close to each other the software can jump back and forth due to issue with recognizing so less markers with unique patterns is preferable.

Here small test at angles with just couple of markers

If you experience anything just let me know.
