im having a lot of issues aligning two parts of this scan i just made like the points line up but like i need one or both parts to rotate in order for them to align point 1 and 2 put in the right spots align them but once point 3 gets introduced it just ignores it and doesn’t do what i want it too
Pull them into Cloud Compare and align them in there
Hi @ihatecad
You need to have the same features on both scans , this here will never works scanned this way , for this kind job you need to scan it in virtual position, scan the half top then half bottom and then you have inside and out scanned with proper features.
As Nick suggested , use Cloud compare and manually align it there be manually rotating them in the right position if you don’t want to rescan it again .
I find that when there’s not enough unique features in a top and bottom to align, that I need to take one more scan from the side and use it as an intermediary. This has always worked for me and is SOP now. Not that I won’t try w/ a top and bottom scan, but when there’s not enough captured to align, a side scan fixes it.
It help too to do that … So totally agree
so i figured that out on the very next scan which happened before i saw these comments and yeah i got some of the exterior details on the interior part of the scan and it merged exactly how it was supposed too as for the scan that triggered this post imma just send it since its got all the details that i required
