Lock view in key frame editing

There needs to be a way to lock the view when editing key frames. Without this the view jumps around from frame to frame making it impossible to compare the point clouds and quickly find a misaligned frame. This is even worse when there are hundreds of frames and it’s easy to see that one is not aligned properly if they are close but not perfectly aligned. I have a scan with hundreds of frames but one of them is off by less than a millimeter in the z-plane. I can rotate my view to get a clear shot of the misaligned frame but as soon as I try to isolate which one it is the view jumps around and I can not compare the frames to find it. This is very frustrating and makes the process take hours instead of just a few seconds that it would take if the view didn’t jump around but instead just stayed put. Please add this to the metroX software and save me hours of frustration. Thank you!

Try to select the fragment of the frame you think is misaligned with the tools on the right , it can easy help you to indicate what frame need to be removed.

Thank you, I will give it a try.

So, I’ve been trying to do it and it’s very difficult to attempt to figure out which frames are the problematic ones this way. It seems like it should be easy to do what you’ve said but in practice it’s not a great deal of help as there are multiple frames that are just slightly out of alignment with the rest of the scan. If I could keep my view still and then highlight the frames it would be much more simple to find them. The problem that I am running into is that every frame may have one or two points that are out of alignment but there is no way of determining which frame is just off and which frame just has a few bad points. I really need to be able to not only lock the viewpoint but it would be even better to have the view point locked universally in the program. If I have a fused or meshed view that would remain the same when I clicked onto the edit key frame it would be the most help for me. It’s kind of crazy when the view is constantly changing for every different thing that I am doing in the program. I am wasting far too much time attempting to locate and relocate bad points. So, thank you for your suggestion but it is not much help in my circumstance. I really need to be able to lock the view and have it remain locked through out my editing in the same way that blender allows me to move from object mode to edit mode to sculpting mode and not have different points of view. It really helps on not getting lost in a cloud of points and it’s especially helpful to not have lost your selection as you move about the program. Revo Scan needs this type of functionality because right now, I have to do all of the cleanup in blender.

It’s not fully efficient I do agree , I do my cleaning mostly in Cloud Compare

The only helpful for me is to use edit all frames and based on visual tracking can select the frames I want to remove

It is not simple and very time consuming task … hopefully it evolve in something better over time .

I came here to suggest this exactly for RevoScan (I use Miraco). It would be a huge help to be able to lock the position.

I fully support you, with my hands and feet! Please, dear developers. Take a to-do sheet

This has been asked for a few times in the (dare I say distant) past, but hopefully this time it gets noticed.

All suggestion are collected and Dev.team take it for evaluation , but the list is so long already , don’t expect results overnight .
