Hey kkula9999, how did you made the transparent spheres with the markers on it? just printed them in transparent material with a magnet inserted?
thanks for reply,
do you mean this?
these are from Temu, 10mm one, coz the marker come with the scanner has 10mm diameter
https://share.temu.com/Km2KP0Vj5nA
and those are not magnetic-able, and the marker was from the scanner package
I got the magnets from Amazon 10mm to use with the standard 6 mm markers from Revopoint .
I got the magnetic sheets too but not yet the 10 mm cutter
With the new Trackit scanner I may never have the needs again for the separate markers again
6mm? whichone :o i for 10mm came with mini
6mm diameter measure “silver” only? or silver + black
i saw the scanning video, the mesh seem lost some detail of the vase, not sure it’s cause of the quality of the video or not
I mean the markers are officially measured by the white inner dot diameter , so the 10 mm are officially 6 mm markers ( white 6 mm) the outside black circle
is 4 mm .
Probably used one click edit as usual .
It would take lots of time to process at the highest settings and for that you need more patience .. so just a teaser , the case is made from polished bronze , not easy to scan without scan spray but still they managed to get it well . Personally I would used a spray for better capture of finest details .
As usually the scanning distance will determine the resolution of the scanned object so it plays also big role . The closest resolution may reach even 0.03 mm but not yet confirmed since still a prototype so lots of work will be done in the common month on it.
i see, cant wait for more testing video come out
3 more scans to go !
it was surprised that the windows was able to scan with metroX, it might cause of the window is tinted.
there was an incident for merging 3 parts together, not sure whats the issue,
(yellow + purple) OR (purple+ pink) merge were doing well individually,
but all three parts were a mess
so this easy fix, was merge (yellow + purple) / (purple+ pink) individually, then merge 2 merged mesh together
I have come across that same issue in revoscanMetro, where it doesnt want to merge all of them, but if you do two and then two it is fine. not really sure what the issue is. Enough similarities between markers that it gets confused?
Looks good though!
Looking forward to seeing how your overlap areas turn out.
yes, but as long as the feature merge is work normal
coz I never use manual alignment since rs4
Did you tried Cloud Compare ? It can help you merge difficult sections together , manual , simple auto alignment or full registration , it will allow you to see exactly the errors ahead before simple auto alignment process.
Very old Revo Studio .. it was ok but the processing and cleaning took forever.
yes lol, what i meant is auto merge is more than enough in RS5
i heard, but havent use CC before, let me try after done the full scan of my car first
2 more to go
left rear door, and this was scanned with global marker mode
advantage: scan smoother than marker mode
disadvantage:
1: needed to pre scan marker before scan
2: hard to add more marker, once the model scanned
merge with manual alignment, coz auto alignment was fail
merged
measurement
official measurement
It is great , manual alignment , all parts can be loaded at once on the screen .
Then you can make simple registration like in Revo Scan and see real time errors in alignment between points without real merging them so still separate part but aligned, then final high level registration and equalization . Very handy when accuracy is at risk.
1 more to go
definite slower scan than Trackit,
metroX was fast for scan, most of the time (around 75-80%) in the project was put and remove marker onto the car body,
what else can do with the scan?
- 3d print a mini version of the car
- reverse engineering for the parts,
- or import into the game for decloration
Great job!
How do you stick these onto the car?
do you meant the scanning markers?
