I just got a msi vector laptop- 18”, rtx 5080, 64gb ram, 10tb nvme ssd. Supposedly this thing has 40gb usb c ports. Windows 11.
Whenever I scan with trackit it it CONSTANTLY disconnects I can’t even get thru a single scan.
Plugged into my pc that’s like 8 years old it works flawlessly (things a beast tho, 32core, 256gb ram, 3090ti, only 1 usb c port on the back of my motherboard). Windows 10.
Anyone have any tips for me with this laptop? Revopoint did send me a new usb c cord to try but same experience.. I bought the laptop from b&h and just learned they don’t return laptops
On my new laptop I can only use USB-C thunderbolt port with Trackit, the other ports don’t works with it , neither other scanners , getting message “ USB device is not recognized “
Try to use other ports , and if the same maybe unchecking GPU rendering , you can also try to uncheck GPU acceleration and scan only using CPU and see if it disconnect as well , just to find what is really going on .
It can be the port that losing the power , it can be the graphic card .
Make sure your laptop is plugged in while using Trackit and the system is set of full performance .
My laptop perform well only on Turbo mode with Trackit and power plugged in .
You still have warranty on your laptop , so best time to find out what is not working proper .
I see it too often lately . Nobody really posted a direct solution for it yet , would be great if you can share more info about with the community and users
thanks guys, I’ll try some thins on the laptop soon.
My first scans with it I wasn’t terribly impressed with the highest quality for small objects- so I have been holding out for the metro y pro to get here… but might mess with the trackit again this weekend since the metro y keeps delaying
well some good news- after updating chipset, and installing nvidia app to update my driver, it seems to finally be happy with the following GPU settings in my windows 11 settings-
Optimizations for windowed games - OFF (reduces latency- this may have been the culprit to my disconnects)
GPU Acceleration - ON (it connected but wouldn’t scan any frames with this disabled)
Visible Refresh Rate - OFF
Did you run the PC performance check in Revo Trackit, in the top right corner above ?
It should tell you exactly what works best so you can see if everything is optimal .
Best to check after the Trackit is connected , it seriously don’t need more power to run optimal than you have , I am getting optimal frames with just RTX 4060 , there is something odd about it , it should just working without all of the graphic card settings straight out the box
