I bought a MINI2, but when I tried to do the calibration, the red dot started moving all over the place at crazy speed. I somehow managed to collect the test data, but then it said “Failed to get camera parameters.” Please help!!!

Why you calibrated a new unit ? It is not recommend to calibrate a new units at least couple of months unless a issues appear while scanning .
The calibration is very sensitive and the position need to be exactly to capture proper the calibration pictures, make sure you have good lighting when doing it for better stabilization .
You can take the scanner in both hands and secure your elbows on the table for stabilization ensure the horizontal and vertical level showing green.
The red dot is not moving , the only thing that is moving is the scanner RGB camera in your hand , with good lighting you will be able to capture proper the pictures at each position .
