Enhanced Fusion/Mesh Optimization and Selective Detailing for Large Scans

Hello Revopoint team and once again happy new year and best wishes! I come back to a suggestion that I have made for a long time now but which seems really important to me, I had to do very large scans resulting in very large scan files, which become almost impossible to process, manipulate so much they are large, except most of the time, we only need some parts with more details and others with much less, what is important is to be able to keep the whole to recalibrate on theory for example. What I propose is to do like some other pro scan software: to have the possibility of roughly meshing the whole, to be able then using the selection tools (brush, lines etc …) to then adjust the fineness of the mesh or even fusion + mesh. That would be ideal. Hoping that this improvement arrives one day, thank you team

You forgetting one important thing , scanning with lower settings will also lower the accuracy and resolution.
Smooth out the edges and corners, how useful it can be?
It is a gimmick for nothing more but fun.

We should have instead a proper decimation algorithms simplify option that can convert the scan based on details/ geometry into much smaller data scan keeping just important details and removing the points where they are not really needed.
Much better approach and more desirable overall results. It will keep the accuracy intact.

The current Simplifying feature is not optimal and more attention should go in that direction to solve the huge data scans.

That’s my suggestion on that topic.

Hi Catharina, maybe I expressed myself badly, I was not talking about scanning with a lower precision, just the post processes that could be set lower temporarily, once the mesh is done, after selecting the elements that we would like with more details, the fusion calculation then mesh could be set higher at our convenience, This is the system used on some software from other manufacturers and I find it very effective., your solution is also interesting

Yes that would work this way Seb.
And would be much better approach than the other software even offers.
