Challenge of Scanning a Plated Motorcycle Exhaust Pipe
I couldn’t get any scanning results in the beginning. After I applied talcum powder to the surface to reduce the gloss, I was able to obtain results from the scan.
However, I didn’t place enough 3D marker points, so I couldn’t complete the full scan. I need more practice to figure out how to operate this properly.
Does anyone have a better way to do it?

More markers would help. If I would scan this, I would not place markers on the exhaust pipe. The scanner can see enough markers around it.
I think you’re using Marker Tracking. I personally only use Global Marker Tracking. That way the scanner already knows where the markers are as soon as he sees a part of the markers, this way if you somehow lose track, it will recover quickly. But of course you need to have the scanner learn where the markers are before you begin. Here is an example:
