I’m trying to copy a point cloud before I cut extra points off and attempt to merge them, in case the merge goes poorly. Is this something I can easily do?
I’d like to copy these two, before I start cutting.
No copy/paste.
But you can export the point cloud and then import it back in.
Also you can always go back to the raw data of a scan and reedit the point cloud

Oh ok, that’s good to know, I wasn’t sure if I was deleting those points if I lasso’d and deleted them. I think I see what you mean.
The exception being the edits in the Frame Edit mode, which are permanent changes to the raw data (and said changes are even committed at certain times before you exit the mode and “save” the changes).
Always back up the project folder for important scans. You know, like ones from a difficult to access location that you probably can’t go back to but you also can’t resist playing with new software features.
