Black Plastic Cover – Work Lamp Scan

Black Plastic Cover – Work Lamp Scan

This scan was performed using the Revopoint Inspire 2 in laser mode, on a completely black, untreated plastic surface.
Global markers were used with an average target spacing of 0.15 mm.

The acquisition was divided into three separate scanning phases to ensure full surface coverage and proper overlap between segments.

The resulting point clouds were individually cleaned and then merged with a 0.10 mm tolerance using the merging function in Revo Metro 5.

The final model shows exceptional surface quality, with high detail and no visible noise or loss of definition, despite the object’s dark and reflective finish.

During scanning, the actual frame rate remained around 40 fps, which is above the official specification, achieved on a system without GPU acceleration.

This test demonstrates the accuracy, sensitivity, and stability of the Inspire 2’s laser mode, capable of delivering results comparable to higher-end systems even on challenging black plastic surfaces.
