Acoustic headphones

Hi, I bought a pair of AR glasses to use outside with my POP4, which works really well.

The glasses are also great for watching movies etc, they have a tiny set of speakers built into the arms that go over your ears. I set myself a little design project, to make the speakers louder (though I could just use headphones :slight_smile: )

I put the glasses on, plugged them into my MIRACO Plus scanner and scanned the side of my fat head.

It was great being able to guide my MIRACO scanner to the side of my head using the AR Glasses.

I then took those scans into Rhino 3D, made a quick 3D model, then 3D printed the “Ear Shells”.

They work great !!, here are a few screen grabs, I am tweaking the 3D model a bit so will show the final 3D Print in the next post.

… and the finished product, with a new 3D printed blackout visor as well.

I scanned the original visor with the POP4 and re-modelled it

The Ear “Shells” work really well with the foam insert.

Having a great 3D scanner + some modelling skills + a 3D printer is a wonderful thing :slight_smile:

…and…

I remembered that I had this 3D mouse/laser pointer sitting in a drawer.

My workflow for the POP4 now works like this…

I Power up the scanner in wireless mode.

I connect my Laptop via wireless

I Mirror the Revoscan software to my Lenovo 8.8inch Android tablet

I plug the wireless mouse into 1 of the USB ports in the tablet

I plug the XR glasses into my Tablet using the USBC Video out port, put my tablet into my pocket.

I can drive the software on the PC, via the mirror, with the 3D wireless mouse with my left hand while scanning with my right hand.

The only wire is the one connecting the Glasses to my tablet in my pocket.
