Building on Revo Scan 5, the new version features a refreshed interface and an updated workflow to support future features and improve performance consistency across scanning and post-processing.
2)Simplified File Structure: Revo Scan 6 replaces the complex project concepts of Revo Scan 5 with a simplified “one scan, one file” workflow, making file management clearer and easier to use.
① Advanced Fusion: Each file can now store up to five fusion and mesh results, preventing previous results from being overwritten and allowing multi-version data coexistence and iterative optimization.
② Simplified Post-processing Operations: A new quick-edit workflow lets you run preset actions with one click or customize parameters through a drop-down menu, significantly improving processing speed and usability.
4)Redesigned Visual Style: The main color scheme has been upgraded from black and red to black and blue, creating a more focused, modern, and professional visual experience.
I’m a little confused about the file management.
It seems that right now
individual files are individual scans - I don’t mean files on disk but files on the main page.
So unlike previous version, we have to open each scan individually.
the new Group feature - groups contain individual files/scans - so a single group is more like a project file - so groups are closer to what we’ve seen in the previous version on the file tab?
So the process right now is:
launch Revoscan
create new group - it’s our current project
create new scans within our new group.
If so, I have a request as to file management on disk.
Right now all scans are just created as folders inside the Revoscan data folder.
Can we please first have a group folder and the scans related to that group inside that group folder?
So when we open the Revoscan folder we will see Group folders first, and the scan folders inside those group folders?
Nobody wanted a project group with single scan projects inside it and it was replaced , Revo Scan 6 replaces the complex project concepts of Revo Scan 5 with a simplified “one scan, one file” workflow .
Exactly as everyone wanted.
Now you can create your own group ( base project folder ) as you please.
That’s is not exactly what I wanted personally , but hey users has spoken!
No no, it’s fine.
But I’d like this structure to be also represented by folder structure on disk.
Think of it in terms of copying your project to another computer.
It should be as easy as copying a single folder.
Right now I don’t even think it’s possible be cause you have no way of knowing which folders within the Revoscan data folder belong to your group :o
Totally agree with you Filip , that was also my point.
Moving just scans will not allow you to generate textures or after merge them on another computer. As original projects are needed with all data.
And many others things …
I will see if there is proper workflow that allows us to do it correctly .
Not that I tracked this in a spreadsheet or anything, but I saw mostly requests for:
Duplicate scans (mostly because of the destructive tools)
Split scans into groups of frames
Move scans between projects and/or merge/separate scans from/to projects
Operations between projects (ie, align scans from different projects without breaking everything with export/import)
Although RevoScan 5 still works with my 3d mouse, also after installing RevoScan 6, the 3d mouse does not work with RevoScan 6. I’ve also updated the 3dConnexion driver for the 3d mouse, but it does not change anything. Only zooming in/out works but with the wrong ‘gesture’. All other functions (panning, rotation, etc) do not work in RevoScan 6.
I forgot to mention that Revo Scan 5 MetroX was used early exclusive with MetroX scanners , but it is now archived and no future updates will be available , please continue with Revo Metro from now on using your MetroX scanner.
