I’ve been trying to scan this object, but I haven’t figured out why the quality is insanely bad I’m pretty sure it is because it just is small. I’ve tried having figures with detail beside the object with both full field and auto turntable modes. Marker scanning with markers beside it (I’m pretty sure its global field scanning or something) has seemed to give the best results. I’m struggling with getting the sides of it especially in between the thin wall and the longest thick wall. I’ve fiddled around with the post processing trying to get the holes to fill properly as well with how it meshes.
I have used scanning spray on this part, but it doesn’t seem to help.
I am happy to hear from anyone with help on this thank goodness Revopoint has forums!
Take care
Use Auto Mode and around 36 frames to capture one angles at a time .
Place the object at an angle and never flat on the surface to avoid shadows casted by the thin walls preventing the sensors to see deeper
You can also try laser mode elevating the object slightly up from the surface to allow to capture the side edges as well, you may get much better results , capture at least 8K of frames with laser mode .
Set the Depth Exposure to 1 and Laser brightness not higher than 5-7 or less for white and bright objects .
You can try parallel mode but it will take slightly longer than cross mode
It will penetrate the cavity deeper and less issues with shadows.
