The more I scan the more details I lose?

I’ve got any issue with my Revopoint Mini 2, which I’ve constantly had.

When doing scans, it seems to lose details it has already scanned previously.

See screenshots below :

Photo 1 = Frame 1359

Photo 2 = Frame 1802

You can see I’ve lost a bunch of scanned detail, and I’m unsure what I’m doing wrong.

It really is frustrating, as I am forever trying to add the detail back in, then it loses previously scanned detail, scan again, etc.

The part doesn’t lead itself to be scanned in separate sections.

Please help, this is getting so frustrating and I’m ready to give up!

You can see a bunch of previously scanned data is now missing.

Hi @Jimbob2705

You should capture at max 360 frames per one rotation or one side and nothing more than that and 36 single shot frames per rotation or angle , each frame per second capture 8 millions of points, there is completely no reason to capture so much frames especially for so simple object .

Scanning over already scanned area is never a good idea especially if you use Full Field for scanning .

You should have it done in 2 minutes .
So something is here not right .

I recommend contact customer@revopoint3d.com fir technician assistance if you have any issue with your hardware as you stated early .

I am afraid that is all I can help you here via forum , for a deeper check out you will need to submit your project files to the customer support as well for better evaluation of this issue and logs so they can see what is happening .

I am sure they going to help you out .

Still having issues with this, very frustrating.

You can get 90% of the scan done, then suddenly it will lose a chunk of previously scanned data despite the rendering frames still counting up.

Is no one else having this issue?

3 frames later and lost a good chunk of detail it has already scanned….Just look at the centre area

Did you contact Customer Support?

Hi @Jimbob2705 please contact customer@revopoint3d.com as I told you 21 days ago , I can’t help you here in the forum with it . Please make short video showing the frames disappear and send it together with the zipped project files to the CS for the technician to evaluate this situation .

And no I don’t have any of it happening while scanning , but the reason may be that the frame was wrong aligned and was removed to correct the error in real time and that would’ve correct behavior . But in your case to be sure the technician need to evaluate it .

I have emailed with no reply. I will chase them up.

I will check that ! And will be back at you on Monday since since the office is closed already for the weekend.

Hi Jim

Can you please send me your email via PM or chat ?

I can’t find your email in CS using your forum nick name .
