Rhino 3D Gaussian Splatting

I use Rhino 3D for creating 3D models from the Scans that I do using my Revopoint 3D Scanners, Range, MIRACO, MetroY Pro and now POP4.

The POP4 can scan and export Gaussian Splat files (3DGS).

Rhino 3D now has a FREE plugin to enable import of Splat files.

C# integration plugin for Rhino 3D that allows users to import, visualize, edit, and convert 3D Gaussian Splatting datasets and standard point clouds. The project enables real-time viewport display, custom boundary-based cropping with undo support, automated surface extraction (meshing)

I haven’t had a chance to fully test it yet, but I will hopefully post some POP4 scans/splats in Rhino shortly.

Mike

Rhino has always been able to import colour 3D scan files as “E.57”, PLY, STL, and TXT format, this plugin adds these new Rhino 3D Import Formats,

Annnnddd… it works perfectly.

I scanned this little Owl figurine with my POP4, then exported the file as a SPLAT file, then imported it straight into Rhino 3D Version 8
