Seriously, why is it even a thing???
I know I’m not the first one with this problem.
What is the purpose of licensing this software?
What is this hypothetical group of people that do not own a Revopoint scanner, but want to use Revoscan - software designed to work exclusively with data generated by Revopoint scanners?
This is one of these features that looks good on paper, but in reality have absolutely no real use for anyone, and as a bonus can potentially break and hurt paying customers
There is nothing that free so create can offer , but I think it have to do with the 3DGS in the future .
BTW the license files are saved in your computer that why for some reason the software can’t access it .
Funny thing my RS6 never asked for activations until today.
It is quite annoying that you can’t access your software after scanning to process things afterwards and I did expressed my opinion on it directly already.
If you have issues I would recommend writing to customer@revopoint3d.com and request offline activation files and keep it handy in the future.
We put up with Autodesk for licensing issues because… well it’s Autodesk. What are you going to do? At least you can get emergency help if it becomes necessary.
But for Revoscan… that’s a bad call. If they are licensing some middleware that requires a license, those features are what should be locked not the entirety of it.
I still think it was not really that important to add another issue to the software , that why it is important to send as much feedback personally if you want a change , I can’t fight things alone
