I’m not sure if anyone else is having issues using the auto alignment, but it seems to struggle with symmetrical objects. Shown on ‘Image 1’ is an extreme example of misalignment, but running the auto alignment command results in more or less unusable results.
‘Image 2’ is the best result i was able to produce with auto alignment. You can see it still does not align properly leaving the edges misaligned (Image 2, circled in red)
‘Image 3’ was the best result i was able to get using the multipoint alignment. Still not great…
Lastly, in ‘Image 4’ I manually aligned the scan to the cad model in a different cad software and brought it into Revo Measure (without auto-align or multipoint align) This result would be the baseline reference. I would expect to get this kind of result from the Revo Measure auto-align tool.
I think this is a critical feature of Revo Measure and should be a high priority for improvement.
