Plese try something smaller and highly detailed like a 28mm wargaming mini or a piece of jewellery like an earring or ring.

I’d like to see scans of the whole object, top, side, bottom, etc. Seriously considering jumping onboard, but everything I scan has at least two scans stitched together, most take 3 scans to properly stitch everything.

Can you show a video of that? and the objects?

If you have a look at some of the scans in my showcase, many are done in one session with just re-positioning the object.

If you use markers for features you need merge all angles, it you scan objects with features you can scan them at once , just scan one rotation at once , pause change angle scan one rotation and again until you finish your full scan . Only if the object have proper level of details for tracking .

Check @Rilot Showcase he have full models online you can check them out .
MetroX Showcase

I will make videos next week , but you can check Revopoint YouTube channel for MetroX videos.
I am just too busy at this moment .

If anybody interested, updated the color section of the Showcase

Great work/scans as always! Couple of questions:

  1. Does the Auto-Turntable mode work with the old turntable too or only the new one?
  2. Does Auto-Turntable work with other scanners? (i.e. auto the turntable and take Single Shots around it)
  3. Your video turntables at the end look like they’re direct from RevoScan5 - is a turntable video/render a part of RS5 now (and I’ve just missed it!) or is it a new feature?

I’m kinda torn on whether to pull the trigger on this one. I’m intrigued by it at the low price point and to see where Revopoint take it, but at the same time a little disappointed in the laser results I’ve seen - although yours look considerably better - probably because you’ve taken the time to correctly set the exposure etc.? I like the idea of a Mega MINI blue light scanner though

On the scanned scanner is that preview inside revoscan? Have they added that awsome mesh shader finally?

Hi, thank you !
Yes it works with the old turntable but it is just single frame Auto Scanning mode .
However you can connect it as usual with other scanners and modes for continuous rotation or tilt while scanning .

No , Auto scanning mode is right now exclusive to MatroX but I see no reason why not ad that function to the rest of the scanners in the future that support single mode .

I wish , the turntable was rendered in Zbrush , I just loaded the scan screenshot to show the parameters of that scans in the background , that only Zbrush function you see here .
But I thought we need one in RS5

I spent over 200 hours with it , lots of testing and practice , however the Laser mode will improve in next software update , we go through 3 beta prototypes so far and now just waiting for the software to be tuned properly.

For that price it is s definitely a stealer even with the new Full Field Blue Structures Light mode and Auto mode , it has already higher value than Mini series for sure , Mega Mini indeed

It also scan wonderfully life face casts to the last fine skin details , so for me already everything I want .

At the end both Laser and SL will have the same accuracy and quality so definitely worth the price in my eyes .
The only downfall is that is stationery indoor scanner only and require proper workstation .
However Structured Light and Auto mode also will work on a i7 8th generation 16GB PC tablets as I already tried so if you have 12 V 3Am power supply you can go portable :joy:

HI! I usually scan armchair, chairs and sofas with Miraco, I’m facing a project with black office chairs…do you think is suitable for this kind of work or scan size is too small?

the scanning volume is 1 cubic meter , it is for small to medium objects , unless you want to scan it partially and then merge , but it will be some work, you will need to use markers as the FOV is too small for scanning chairs , not enough features and color only available for small objects on turntable in auto mode .

It would be good tool to scan partial stuff like the arms or the hardware

Updated again the Auto turntable section, fine details

oh!Ok thank you for the fast feedback. I think I will stuck to Miraco for the moment… I hope in the future a bigger version will came out.

no problem , I wish for it too like RangeX or something , I would love that with Blue SL and big FOV … That would be something …

@PUTV can you share the file for the MetroX itself?

What files you looking for @theblackkeys ?
Check the MetroX showcases there is plenty of stuff to check by various users
.

I believe he is asking if you can share the mesh file of the scan you did of the metro itself, would love to have it too
