why beta? Aren’t we supposed to be getting the final production model any day now?

Why you are confused ? You are not getting a prototypes .. I only do, and this one is the latest approved prototype that is in production , the final blue print of what you get.
I am the internal final beta tester/user for all Revopoint products and software.
The final scanners are due any day now (supposedly), and you’re posting that you got a beta, so…I don’t know what you do, or who you are, nor do I follow you. Thanks for the clarification.

I am not from Revopoint, and I do not know their internal workings! But I can talk from over 20 years in product development.
At this stage, the hardware would be sorted and also the main core of the firmware and software, which is usually sorted during alpha tests. These final beta tests are for usability features and best settings use cases, eg real-world interaction. So there would be a working solution already; this would just be a refinement
This really no matter what it is , it is identical to the final public production . I suppose to post is one month ago but was delayed by the customs for over 20 days.
It is exactly that. The refining here is mostly with the software in real world usage to catch up on little bugs if any.
I do not post internal testing results to the public from early stages. Only the final working results .
