Pop 4 laser information for decent safety goggles

Hi there,

I would like to know what are the nanometer (nm) specs of the pop4 3d scanner and eventual recommended laser goggles, can someone help me with this information? Are the laserlines harmfull? Also if bounced back on something reflective instead of directly looking into them?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Ttt

The laser lines are not really harmful and I do not use any laser glasses either .

The laser level is class 2 and fire only when markers are detected , if you don’t shutting it into your eyes directly there is not issue , they are as dangerous as going outside on a sunny day without sunglasses or playing with your laser pointer.

But if you are concerned , you can always buy laser goggles any one would works fine . And do not scan people faces with laser mode .

If you use Full Field, Hybrid or VCSEL you can use it freely to scan humans as the laser class is only 1 meaning safe infrared laser.

Hi @PUTV,

Can you share the specs of the laser of the pop 4 so that I know the nm bandwidth? As laser goggles often have different ranges they are to be used with. I already have one so would like to check the specs and if they match the pop 4 laser output.

  1. Class 2
  2. Power Output: Under 1 milliwatt
  3. Wavelength: Visible light only (400 to 700 nm).
  4. Safety Mechanism: The human aversion response (blinking or turning your head) takes about ≤ 0.25 seconds, which naturally limits eye exposure.
