MetroX scanning very noisy and flat surfaces shows a relatively thick grid in cross line scanning

Hi there. I’m using a MetroX scanning and I’m getting very noisy scans with artifacts. Flat surfaces always shows a relatively thick grid in cross line scanning.

This image is from a very flat surface, and shows some strange circles that aren’t obviously markers.

A perfect flat and clean surface also shows some “orange peel” look.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Hi @guza3d

Please clean the point cloud after fusing very well to avoid any surface noises or artifacts.

If you scan with laser mode make sure you captured enough frames and not less than 8K , with Full Field you need no more than 360 per one angle rotation . Auto mode 36 frames .

Lose points and especially double points are responsible in artifacts later after meshing , so make sure you clean well the point cloud from lose points and double points before moving to meshing .

Under meshing use the same GRID settings you used for fusing for best quality .
