Hello, I use a Metrox scanner and when I use Cross Lines, the scan quality is not good, if I use parallel lines, the quality is much better. I use revo metro 5.8.4. I wanted to calibrate the scanner but it can’t be done, I tried more than 10 times. My computer is AMD Ryzen 5 7640
16gb RAM
RTX 4060
That computer is a little light on ram, but otherwise fine.
You need to use fusion on the model, clean out the extra bits and mesh.
I had problems with calibration, contacted support and they gave me two lines in the ini file to edit and this fixed the problem. Likely in your case too, contact support and they’ll help you too.
Hi @Spejhle
Parallel lines always provide better results than Cross line , every mode is for a different type of object or scanned features. But Parallel mode requires much more frames to be collected so almost double time scanning .
To me it looks like you did not collect enough frames to get the smooth surface , laser mode require a lot of frames with MetroX at least 10.000 to start it and up , how more frames how smother the surface .
Please always clean your Scan from everything it don’t belong there before you mesh it . It will provide better meshing settings and better results as well.
And of course if you switched to Revo Metro you need calibration , please contact customer@revopoint3d.com
They will provide for your instructions how to fix your issue.
