IMac get_log.sh issues ("Command not found")

Hi,

Im trying to use the command terminal to get the hardware log to send to Revpoint customer support but I keep getting “Command not found”. I followed the walk through and don’t know what to do to retrieve the hardware log. Has anyone experienced this issue? I am currently waiting on customer support to respond with a solution.

Who told you to do that ?
That is not the way you should get the log files .
Please contact customer@revopoint3d.com
For future assistance .

Revopoint customer support sent me this link below to access a tutorial that uses the terminal command to access the hardware log files for a pop2 thats not working properly.

I am very sorry , I can’t help you with that since I don’t do hardware support , only customer support can handle it … the office is currently on vacation and so am I .
I can’t reach anybody to give me a hand in this case even If I try .

Please write back to support and ask them for assistance and wait patiently, you going to be helped , don’t worry .

Hi, not customer support but perhaps I can help…

can you please type the command “chmod +x revoTool” and then try again?
Looks like the permissions of the file have been lost with the download.

Hi, krofinski

I entered the command “chmod +x revoTool” and this prompted the iMac OS to request permission to open unverified program, I gave access to the program and I entered the “chmod revoTool” command again and it looks like it accessed the files in the folder.

I then tried original “chmod +x get.log.sh” input as per the tutorial I entered “sudo ./get_log.sh” and this time it returned with the file “vsdkConfig.ini”. I am not sure if this is the hardware log?

can you share a screendump after running the get_log.sh script?

According to Revopoint’s video, should be something like this (sorry for the low quality, I don’t have a Mac myself to check )

and then you should get, in the same directory, apart from a file named vsdkConfig.ini, another one named “log.txt”. This is the one they are requesting.

Hi Krofinski,

it took a while but if finally output the log.txt file. I emailed that to customer support. thank you for the help, running “revoTool” did the trick.

Never used MacOS, but luckily it is an UNIX based system, and that kind of errors are quite common so it was way easier than it might look

Me neither…not Mac user never was …
Thankfully you were around !
Thanks !

Support responded that the log info showed it was defective. They offered a pop3 upgrade if I pay the difference. I paid the differencea few days ago and am still waiting on confirmation. I hope to hear something back soon.

please stay in touch with customer@revopoint3d.com we do not handle orders in the forum .
The office is back from Holidays also so I suggest you write back to support as a reminder.
