I have many projects created with Revo Scan 5 and I was wondering how I can convert them to be used with Revo Metro, because if I open them directly the latter software says that I have to use Revo Scan 5.
On my PC in the Revo Metro folder there’s a file called “ConversionTool.exe.” Running it opens a window titled “Batch Import” with the message “Import models created with previous versions of Revo Scan, press OK to begin.”I press OK, and the “Update Successful” notification appears, but no projects have actually been converted.
Has anyone managed to convert and open projects saved from Revo Scan in Revo Metro?
This is not a project conversion for Revo Metro, you can open only projects that was scanned using MetroY MetroY Pro, Inspire 2 & MetroX. Or import direct models only scanned using other scanners.
Any other scans projects need to be open in their relative software.
If that was the case you would not need separate software to begin with .
Why you want to import others scanners project to Revo Metro ? There is nothing better than it is available in its native versions.
Hi, thanks for the quick reply! I’m about to purchase a new scanner with a laser function, so I installed Revo Metro and thought I could uninstall Revo Scan 5 after converting all the scans I made with the POP 3 Plus to Revo Metro, but obviously I’ll keep both programs (Revo Scan is still excellent software).
The message in the ConversionTool window led me to believe this conversion was possible
The conversion is used to convert models to a different extension for export inside the software .
I am afraid you will have to keep the Revo Scan 5 software to be able to open projects created using it or until Revopoint come with an idea to have just one software for all scanners and create a specific conversion app for all projects.
